June 8th- August 1st
Readers of all ages are invited to join us this summer for reading challenges and activities and to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation!
The adult and youth summer reading programs run for 8 weeks, June 8th - August 1st.
- Adults, ages 18 and over:
- Pick up a reading log bookmark and fill it in each time you read 30 minutes.
- Return a completed bookmark to the library to receive a raffle ticket to drop in your raffle basket of choice.
- There's no limit to the number of bookmarks you can submit!
- Youth, ages 0-17:
- Pick up a registration bag that contains your reading log, calendar of events, and other goodies.
- Fill in a star each time you read. Once you've completed a line, then return to the library to receive your reward!
- You can turn in your reading log at any point during throughout the 8 weeks but we ask that you only turn in once per library visit.
- We recommend that youth ages 0-8 read or be read to 10-15 minutes per session and youth 9 years and older read for at least 20 minutes.
- Finished all 6 turn-ins? Keep the fun going! Track additional reading for a chance to be this summer’s Top Reader. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!
The final day to turn in reading logs is August 8th.
Summer Reading Tutoring
Build confidence, improve literacy skills, and inspire a love of learning! Open to children entering 1st-6th grade, register for free reading tutoring in person anytime during the Summer Reading Program.
Sessions are 30 minutes with a trained reading tutor. Children are assessed on sight words, fluency, decoding, confidence, and comprehension. There is no limit to the number of sessions a child may register for, although we recommend 2 sessions per week.
Registration begins June 8th and tutoring sessions begin June 15th. Ask at the library for more information and to register.
Our Summer Reading Program wouldn't be possible without the generous donations from our donors. Thank you to our 2026 donors, whose donations help support lifelong learning and literacy in our community!
